The main objectives of this course is to train young and energetic boys and girls in Block/Bricklaying, Masonry, Concreting, Basic Surveying Levelling and Sewage Disposal to meet the vast need of craftsmen and Technicians in the building industry.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of this course, the students are able to:

  • Select, use and maintain all relevant tools and machinery used in the trade, Construct different types of walls Face walls and exterior parts of the building in bricks, stones, marbles etc.
  • Carry out other related jobs in building such as tilling, wall plastering, flooring, footings, damp-proofing, arches painting, scaffolding, drainage and septic tank construction, basic survey work and levelling, setting out, trade quantities etc.

This programme is intended to provide the students with the knowledge and skills to enable them to install, maintain and repair domestic and industrial equipment and machines

OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, the students are able to:

  • Carry out all electrical installation work effectively.
  • Carry out repairs on various electrical equipment.
  • Work effectively on various domestic and industrial equipment.
  • Make an effective distribution of electrical energy.
  • Use and maintain electrical tools and equipment.

This programme is intended to produce competent craftsmen with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill which will enable the students to construct and repair furniture items.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of this course, students are able to:

  • Identify, use and maintain power tools.
  • Design and construct chairs, tables, upholstery and periodic furniture.
  • Explain and select various timber materials based on strength size and quality.
  • Join upholstery fabrics and select quality fabric.
  • Repair old furniture.

The programme is intended to produce competent craftsman with sound theoretical and practical skills which will enable the students to turn and fit and or produce interchangeable parts of machine tools and equipment

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, the students are able to:

  • Select, use and maintain all engineering hand and machine tools.
  • Work to close limits of measurement and fit.
  • Recognise the physical properties of engineering materials.
  • Produce and interpret working drawings.
  • Work on all the basic machines such as the Lathe, Shaper Planer, Grinder and Miller etc.
  • Produce components, test pieces and specimens.

This programme is intended to produce competent vehicle mechanics with sound theoretical knowledge who should be able to diagnose and carry out repairs and/or maintenance on all types of diesel and petrol engines/vehicles.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course students are able to:

  • Handle, use and maintain all hand tools effectively.
  • Dismantle and re-assemble any part of the standard vehicle such as the engine, clutch, gearbox, propeller shaft, rear axle, fuel system, suspension, brakes, wheels, steering and electrical system.
  • Diagnose faults and recommend means of rectifying these faults.
  • Test and analyse the performance of the vehicle after repairing
  • Differentiate the similarities between spark Ignition (S.I)and compression Ignition (C.I) engines and effect repair on each one.

This programme is intended to produce competent craftsmen with sound theoretical knowledge and adequate practical skills which will enable the students to work effectively with paints.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, students are able to:

  • Select, use and maintain the tools and equipment relating to the trades.
  • Prepare surface and paint to specifications.
  • Apply oil, water synthetic and cellulose-based paints effectively.
  • Carry out spray work on various surfaces.
  • Design colour scheme for the building.
  • Create designs and produce Art Works.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Glass glazing and wall hanging

This programme is intended to produce competent craftsmen with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skill which will enable the student to install, maintain and repair plumbing and sanitation engineering works.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, the students are able to:-

    • Identify various tools and their use in relation to the plumbing trade.
    • Carry out bending screwing and jointing of pipes.
    • Install pipework to heating systems.
    • Construct and fix pipework to the drainage system for both domestic and industrial uses

This programme is intended to produce competent radionic and electronics technician with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills which will enable the student to install maintain and repair, radio set, television and other electronic equipment

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, the students are able to:

  • Select, use and maintain various tools and equipment used in the trade.
  • Differentiate between AC and DC currents and their uses
  • Work on various electronic appliances.
  • Diagnose faults with modern equipment and rectify them.
  • Install Television, related accessories and car radios.
  • Interpret radio communication Circuit diagrams.

  • Secretarial Studies and Bookkeeping

1. SECRETARIAL STUDIES

The objective of this course is to equip students with necessary and adequate skills to type, file documents, cover meetings use a computer to store, retrieve information and handle other secretarial functions effectively in any organisation

 2. BOOKKEEPING

The objective of this course is to provide the students with a deeper knowledge of principles and methods of keeping financial records equip with necessary and adequate skills of clerical duties and office/organisational administrative functions.

OBJECTIVES

At the completion of the course, the students are able to:-

  • Handle, use and maintain all hand tools effectively.
  • Dismantle and re-assemble any part of the standard farm machinery and earth-moving equipment.
  • Dismantle and re-assemble parts such as the engine, clutch, gearbox, propeller shafts, fuel system, brakes and suspension systems, electrical systems e.t.c
  • Diagnose faults and recommend means of rectifying thee faults.
  • Test-drive and analyse the performances of machinery after repair exercises.
  • Differentiate the similarities between S.I. and C.I. Engines and carryout repairs accordingly.
