I am the founder of Access Power Limited. My organisation is into renewable energy and electrical installations. This was made possible because of the knowledge I gained at Government Technical College, and their partner Samsung Electronics. While at GTC Agidingbi, I learnt a lot about electrical installations and Samsung Academy exposed me to the repairs of mobile phones.
With this knowledge gained, some of my friends and I developed a Power Solution project which enables the user to switch between electricity from a generator, inverter and national electricity grid without interfering with one another. We also later upgraded the Power Solution project to include a mobile security system where the user can prevent theft by switching off electrical appliances such as elevators using their mobile phones from anywhere in the world.
The college gave me a lot of exposure as I represented the school at state, federal and international science and robotics exhibitions. With the experience I gained in school, I decided to start my own business rather than seek employment. My organisation currently has 3 permanent staff. University, polytechnic and Government Technical College students also come to us for their industrial attachment training (SIWES).
I am happy to be able to contribute my bit to provide a solution to the electricity problem in Nigeria and while also reducing unemployment.
