GTC Ikorodu

The Government Technical College located at 28, Obafemi Awolowo way, Oke-Ota Ona, Ikorodu. Lagos was established in September 1986 as a pre-vocational Centre with few students spread over just four courses. In 1988, the status of the College was raised to a full-fledged Technical College and it currently runs 17 occupational trades.

The main objective of the college is to produce qualified middle and intermediate level manpower in four (4) Departments: Engineering, Business, Construction and Miscellaneous trades with a view to generating a pool of indigenous trained manpower to meet the needs of the Lagos economy and Nigeria in general. The college is strategically located and surrounded by many industries. It is 2km to the seaport where Dangote Industry is located, 3km to Egbin Thermal station, Nichentex and 3km to Pz Industry. In addition, another industry, Lucky fibre is located 2.5km to the school to mention but a few. All these industries make it fairly easy for our students to get posting for their student’s industrial work experience scheme (SIWES) and eventually get employed after their 3-year training.

The College is a co-educational day school and admission is strictly by merit for candidates who have completed junior or senior secondary schools.
