Profiles of past and present Executive Secretaries

Ms Azeez served as a Special Adviser in the Lagos State Government from 2007-2015. As one of the leaders in the education sector, she was integral to various initiatives designed to reform the sector. She is credited with managing and leading major initiatives of the Lagos State Government designed to improve quality and students’ learning outcomes. The Lagos Eko Secondary Education Project supported over 500,000 Public Schools Students in 670 Secondary Schools, over 7,000 Teachers and School Administrators. During her tenure, the World Bank rated the Lagos Eko Project excellent for achieving and meeting its objectives.

Ms. Azeez was part of the team constituted the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), while she was instrumental to the conception and development of four private-sector partnerships in Mechatronics, Power, Electrical and Automotives trade areas leading to increased access and opportunities for students.

She chaired a number of education sector wider committees- Access for primary school children into secondary schools; reform of the statewide schools’ inspection department reform of assessment processes for Junior and Senior Secondary Schools; statewide distribution of Textbooks for Primary & Secondary. Over the last 30 years, Moronke has worked in Nigeria and the UK.  She held management positions in International Development Agencies. She is an effective change agent who has successfully led and delivered a number of projects in Social Services, Health Education and Community Development to improve service delivery and quality of life of target groups.

Ms. Moronke Azeez is currently an Executive Director of Sages Consults Ltd, Her area of focus is social development, education management, organisational development, and project management. Ms. Azeez holds two master’s degrees in management from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Cranfield University both in the UK. She is a fellow of the UK Chartered Management Institute.

Ms. Moronke Azeez was appointed by Mr. Governor, Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu on the 28th October 2019.

Mrs. Omolara Erogbogbo started her working career in the Lagos State Civil Service in 1982 and her tour of duty took her through various Ministries and Agencies where she served in different leadership capacities. She became Assistant Director and later Director between 1999 and 2001.

In recognition of her sterling qualities, she was redeployed to the sensitive position of the Director, Service Matters, Office of Head of Service in 2005. There she facilitated retreats involving the Head of Service and the Permanent Secretaries, and members of the State Executive Council. In appreciation of her dedication to duty and sense of responsibility, she received a well-deserved letter of commendation from the then Governor of the State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Omolara Erogbogbo has an impressive career progression and enriched professional and work experiences having attended various courses, seminars and workshops locally and internationally and has won many distinguished awards such as the 2001 Merit Award for the 1st Centenary celebration; Award of Excellence in 2006 in the State Public Service, Lagos State Government Long Service Merit Awards in 2015 and the distinguished award of the primate of the African Church, award of excellence in the education sector among other notable awards.

Mrs Erogbogbo whose work experience has taken her to many MDAs has undertaken many special assignments such as the committee on Restructuring of Administrative Cadre, Committee on the Review of the Ayida Panel Report, Committee on the Completion of Teslim Balogun Stadium, Screening Exercise for Transfer of Primary Schools’ Teachers with 1st degree to Secondary Schools and the committee on Improved Learning Outcomes through intervention in Public Primary and Secondary Schools in Lagos State.

She was appointed as the Executive Secretary of Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board, by the Excellence the Governor of Lagos State Mr Akinwunmi Ambode in October 2016.

Mrs. Omolara Erogbogbo

Olawumi Anthony Gasper is an Academic and Administrator of repute. He is an Alumnus of the Cranfield University, England, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Manchester Business School and the Lagos Business School.

He is a two-term past Rector of the Lagos state Polytechnic, past Chairman, Council of heads of Polytechnics in Nigeria and past Vice-Chairman, Commonwealth Association of Polytechnics in Africa. a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Fellow Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Fellow Nigerian Institution of Technological Engineers, he was a member of the Governing Board of the National Board for Technical Education and the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre, Magodo. He was a delegate and member, UNESCO Assisted Reforms of the Nigerian Science, Technology and Innovation Systems.

He was a consultant/technical adviser to the Lagos State Agric-YES Programme. a two-term award recipient as best Rector in the country by National Association Of Nigerian Students [NANS].  He is vigorously driving partnerships with the professional bodies, organized Private Sector and development partners at improving and raising the standards of practice of the Artisans in the informal ecosystem.
